High mountain home

I was sent on a mission as a journalist to write a story about the way of life in three high mountain huts in different parts of Bulgarian mountains. I spent several days in each place, made interviews with the owners and shot portraits of each of them. Although many of the huts in Bulgaria are abandoned, the rental regulations are bad and is hard to rent or buy a hut. Once with a contract the new owners are on their own, with no real support from the government. Very often, the only support is from friends. The purpose of the material was to encourage young people to become next generation of huts’ hosts.  The publication has attracted a big attention, obtaining more than 12 000 views in the online edition.
